Academy of Executive Coaching and Attensi
When two educational powerhouses come together, you know it’s going to be a good result. AoEC came to Attensi to create an interactive, engaging learning platform that would act as the perfect introduction to coaching.
We were thrilled to hear from Gina Lodge (CEO, AoEC), Moira Halliday (Director of Programming, AoEC) and a number of students that have actually completed the program.
Why did you want to take this approach to coach training?
Gina explains how the AoEC has always set out to equip employees with valuable coaching skills they can apply practically in a workplace. These skills support inter-personal employee relationships, cooperation amongst individuals and teams and importantly, create an environment where everyone can do their best work.
Coaching is about people. And without realistic, human focused training, it’s difficult to fully know how you’re going to react in certain situations. Attensi’s gamified simulation training immerses participants in a range of authentic scenarios that they’d genuinely find in their day-to-day workplace.
Creating accessible coach training
Particularly as the pandemic escalated, Moira knew the AoEC needed to make some shifts in terms of the training they offered. With face-to-face sessions out of the question, they needed to come up with something that would not only accommodate everyone’s working locations, but something that would still be interactive, informative and engaging.
As someone who works in programming, Moira understood how much behavioral change skills based training can influence an organisation.
And that’s how the AoEC met Attensi. We guess you could say it was love at first sight.
Training delivered on a global scale
With AoEC’s expertise in coach training and Attensi’s expertise in digital transformation, we were able to design a sophisticated app that can be accessed by 20, or 20,000 people around the world.
Participants can immerse themselves in true-to-life simulations and build up their coaching experience, wherever they are in the world. The realistic avatars add the human touch that can often be missing from more traditional methods of coach training.
As far as the AoEC’s objective of creating more accessible coach training, this is a big step.
“It’s really great stuff. A wonderful introduction to the world of coaching.”
Student responses to the app
It’s clear that the app has been a roaring success amongst participants, most of whom have only accessed coaching opportunities for the first time. They’re combining their introduction to coaching with their introduction to gamified training. What a great way to start!
